EXPEDITION AMEC * Summer House 2011 |
Since this was our first summer at our new location, we decided to
organize an Expedition to
explore our new outdoor environment. We identified the animal prints we watched
all winter, learned about the trees, flowers, birds, dig for fossils and more! |

We worked in the garden, explored with microscopes, plaster, and included many craft projects to create and present our findings. Each member of the expedition received a magnifying glass and binoculars for independent exploration and we all wore the official expedition hat and helped to keep the expedition journal.
Campers brought their bicycles, helmets, knee and elbow pads to take part in the daily
"tour de Montessori " around our big circle!

All of our expedition experiences were in
addition to our traditional activities such as sprinkler fun, backyard
games, picnics and impromptu neighborhood walks, including visits to the Peanut Principle for ice cream on some of those hot summer days. As always, we had plenty of "what I did on my summer vacation" memories...........at the
Summer House! | | |
During the summer, we limit the number of campers to 16. Summer House
staff are able to give more dedicated attention to the children - ensuring
that each camper receives the attention they need and summer camp
experience filled with wonderful memories.
